Meets my needs! Date: June 17, 2009
"I really like the 2.1 and have been using it for about six months. It was easy for me to put together (to my wife's amazement) and is of very high quality. The stickers do come off, but a little super glue took care of that. It took me a few days to get used to it, but I use it regularly for cross training and to prevent/recover from overuse injuries. It basically is the same machine as the 3.2 without the heart rate monitor. I have a dedicated heart rate monitor which gives me all the information I need, so the additional cost for the 3.2 was unnecessary. The computer is sketchy, but none of the computers on any of the ellipticals (at least the ones I've tried) are accurate or dependable. I also find the preset programs unnecessary. I start the workout with the time set for ninety minutes and move the intensity levels manually, and go as long as I like. It's pretty much a seamless operation to change the intensity levels while working out. I can get a heck of a workout, and I can raise my heart rate as high as I like--when I'm doing a long distance run, my HR is usually LOWER on the run than on the elliptical, so even though the 2.1 workout is more intense than most of my runs, it doesn't feel as strenuous as running at the same HR. I just use the 2.1 as a simple manually operated and adjustable machine, and for that, I couldn't have chosen a better one. I'm about 5'11 and 145 lbs. and initially I wished the stride were a bit longer. After about a week, it ceased to be an issue. The machine is very stable, but shorter/heavier people may have a different experience. If you need bells and whistles, it may not be for you, but if you have a heart monitor (which costs less than the upgrade to the 3.2) and don't need to rely on the computer, it's terrific."

"Just received the CE 2.1 Elliptical Trainer.I was impressed with the quality of the machine and in addition, the directions were excellent. No missing parts or confusing directions to deal with. It is heavy and does require two people to assemble. I have both knees replaced and selection of an exercise machine required a bit of research. The elliptical type was highly recommended and the CE 2.1 appeared to be the best choice."

Good Entry Level Elliptical Date: December 22, 2008
"The CE 2.1 seems to be a good entry level elliptical, although it does not come with the wireless heart rate monitor. I don't use that option so for me the machine is perfect."
