"Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. The different motion levels are just what the doctor ordered to create varied workouts.

My only beef is with the upright that goes from the main frame to the control panel. I wish it were wider to provide more stability side-to-side. I'm not a big guy (170 lbs) but I can see and feel it rocking back and forth as I workout.

One of the things I like about the Smooth ellipticals is the upper body resistance, but the more I try and use my arms the more swaying I see/feel. I'm a little concerned about fatiguing the connection points over time.

I can't be certain, but the pictures of the X1 make this upright piece appear more elliptical and less like an air-foil/blade as on the X2. If so, that was probably a more stable design that should have been carried through to the X2."

Great Exercise Machine Date: May 9, 2009
"I was searching for an elliptical to ease joint pain from too many years running on roads. I found the Agile series of dynamic motion trainers, and even though you can only get it on the internet, I took the plunge and ordered it without being able to try it first.

First - the ordering. Great service, knowledgeable staff. Easy to order and was able to use a coupon for an even better price than listed.

It took about a week to arrive at the house - I only did the room delivery because I wanted to get the machine fast and figured getting the white glove set up would only add to the delivery time.

My wife and I set it up in about 2 hours. Not too difficult. Some of the drawings of screws were a little hard to decipher.

I have been using the machine for about a month now. The exercise routines - WOW! What a difference from a regular elliptical. My feet don't go numb anymore and the iPod Dock and speakers are a huge plus. The machine is very quiet and very stable. My wife says it looks like I am running on air.

The pre-programmed exercise routines are pretty inclusive - and you can create your own. I also like that you can have it set for multiple users.

The display is fine - nice and bright and easy to read.

My only critiques:

1. The only way that I have found to set the program you want is to go all the way through the setup menu. If there is a shorter / easier way to do this please tell me.

2. I agree with a previous review that the intensity / motion adjustments are on the wrong side, I too change the wrong one.

3. The hand-held heart rate monitors are not accurate. (I am not sure I have ever found one that is). The chest strap is very accurate.

Overall - a very good machine that I am happy that I bought."

"Untethered at last. The iPod docking station and speakers totally rock and have made my workouts more fun that you should legally be allowed to have. My kids crack up at me everytime I workout now, because I crank up the music and start singing along. You definitely can't do that at a gym. How many times have you been in the groove at the gym with your headphones on and just want to cut loose and belt out a few bars to get over the hump of a hard part and can't or even worse the earpiece shifts and it just messes up the moment. Now I can crank up Van Halen and let loose. It's awesome and I can't wait to workout.

The machine is pretty much amazing as well. IIt is definitely more intense of a workout than a normal elliptical and I love the dynamic pedals. I thought it was just me that got a numb foot or two when on an elliptical, but reading the reviews I see this is pretty common. It hasn't happened once since I have been using the DMT x2.

I did a ton of reasearch on Ellipticals before buying this one and was very close to spending $3,500 or more for either the Life Fitness or PreCor machine, when I stumbled on the DMTx2. I got the whole package delivered to my house and set up with the white glove delivery for $2,198.00, which was only $200 more than the X1. The only real difference betweent he two is the color controls adn the iPod dock and they are both good features and well worth the extra $200. I would highly recommend the white glove set up for $99.00 more if you afford it. The thing weighs 250 lbs so having someone bring it in and set it up will save you a lot of frustration. Although, it took 12 days to get her after ordering, I would still recommend it.

Heres what I love:

- Great workout that far surpasses anything I ever experienced on any other elliptical

- The adjustable motion range is an excellent feature that makes the machine comparable to any higher priced dynamic stride machine on the market.

- The iPod docking station is simply an awesome feature and I am surprised no one else has it. Although, I am probably going to blow my speakers, so they are going to need to sell replacement speakers as an accessory on their website.

- The machine itself is relatively quiet when operating (except when you crank up the iPod, which I highly recommend doing).

- The dynamic pedals are great and no more numb feet.

- The color screen is cool and fairly intuitive

- The fan is a nice feature.

- It has a reasonable form factor and fits nicely in the corner of my bedroom. You really don't need anything more than this for home use.

- Very solidly built and sturdy. No wobbles or swaying or anything that you sometimes get with the cheaper home models.

I only have a few small minor beefs, which hopefully someone at Smooth will read and fix. It is too awesome of a machine not to incorporate these few things into the next design.

- They definitely need to either include or sell as an accessory a water bottle holster. It would fit nicely on the yolk under the display and not get in the way. This is way to intense a workout not to be able to hydrate periodically.

- The touch controls for motion and intensity are pretty much hairtrigger. They should give them a little more of a tactile response so you don't accidentally over shoot. Also, they should switch them on the handles. The motion control should be on the left, because the motion bar chart is on the left of the screen and the intensity control should be on the right, because thats where it is on the screen. I am always getting this backwards when I go for an adjustment and adjusting the wrong thing.

- It could be that I just have big hands, but the heart rate monitor hand sensors really don't work that well. I seem to have to move my hands all around to get a reading and then it fluctuates a lot (changes of 10 heartbeats in one second - I don''t think so). My unit came with a chest strap and I am going to try it tommorrow.

- There should be a program that alternates intensity and movement. The endurance program comes closest, but it increases them both at the same time and it is brutal. I know you can create custom programs, but I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to do that yet. Smooth should just program that in. In addition, the endurance program won't let me lower the intensity level when in the middle of the routine. I guess that can be good as well as the machine won't let take any shortcuts, but if you happened to pick the wrong starting level and want to finish a workout you started, you should be able to adjust it down.

- When the workout is done, it eliminates all the LED metrics on how far you have gone and how many calories burned and the timer goes off. It should leave these things on so you can write them down if you want to track them. Also, after a workout the timer should start counting up in a cool down mode or something. I don't like to stop until I reach my distance goals.

- the User manual is a little thin on description of the features.

Overall, I am highly impressed with this machine. It is an incredible workout and an exceptional value. Incidentally, in case you are wondering, I don't work for Smooth and they didn't pay me anything to say any of this. Indeed, I rarely take the time to leave feedback like this, but was so impressed with this machine that I felt I owed it to future buyers to let them know how great this machine is."

"Just received our Agile DMT X2 two weeks ago. Put together in about 1 1/2 hours...easier than we anticipated. My husband has commented several times on how quiet the machine actually turned out to be. I spent three months reseaching ellipticals and couldn't imagine I could've made a better purchase. I love all the options and programs, especially the different motions that work the different areas of your lower body. It'll take me many months, if ever, to even be able to use the highest intensity level in conjunction with the highest motion level. Will update in six months about if we are still so completely satisfied with our new purchase. But so far, it couldn't be any more perfect!"
